My View of Photography and Life
I am an Atlanta, Georgia based photographer who has been interested in and studied photography for well over 20 years. In 2006, after leaving a long career as a software engineer, I jumped into photography full-time and never looked back.
My basic philosophy of life is to start everything with gratitude. There are so many people to whom I am grateful and who are responsible for my being where I am right now. One stands out above the rest and needs a special mention.
Craig Tanner inspired and encouraged me to pursue photography in a more serious fashion many years ago. And, in early 2007, he continued that encouragement by giving me the opportunity to pursue one of my passions as a photographer — teaching. I had the privilege and pleasure of assisting Craig, a founder of Radiant Vista, for two years with Radiant Vista, as well as teaching a couple of workshops on my own. In October of 2008, I had the great pleasure of continuing to assist Craig as he founded his new venture, The Mindful Eye.
Without the instruction, encouragement, mentoring, support, inspiration and friendship that Craig has so generously given me over the last 10 years, and to whom I am eternally grateful, I would not be here today.
After assisting Craig and administering the workshop program for The Mindful Eye until the end of 2010, I decided that I needed more time to return to being a photographer and teacher of photography and less of an administrator. And, so, I stepped out on my own to develop and teach workshops.
And so, it is was with much gratitude to the universe for all that I’ve received on my journey as a photographer, and a person, that I decided to create My View. It allows me to share the many images , film and digital, that I’ve accumulated and continue to accumulate. It is my hope that you will enjoy these images and take the time to comment on them. All constructive comments and suggestions are welcomed as each helps me grow as a photographer and a person as I travel this journey.
