About Marti
My View of Photography and Life
I am an Atlanta, Georgia based photographer who has been interested in and studied photography for well over 20 years. In 2006, after leaving a long career as a software engineer, I jumped into photography full-time and never looked back.
My basic philosophy of life is to start everything with gratitude. There are so many people to whom I am grateful and who are responsible for my being where I am right now. One stands out above the rest and needs a special mention.
Craig Tanner inspired and encouraged me to pursue photography in a more serious fashion many years ago. And, in early 2007, he continued that encouragement by giving me the opportunity to pursue one of my passions as a photographer — teaching. I had the privilege and pleasure of teaching workshops with Craig, a founder of Radiant Vista, for two years with Radiant Vista. I now have the great pleasure of continuing to teach with Craig and be a part of an exciting new venture, The Mindful Eye, launched in October, 2008.
Without the instruction, encouragement, mentoring, support, inspiration and friendship that Craig has so generously given me over the last eight years, and to whom I am eternally grateful, I would not be here today. If you’ve not had the chance to take a workshop from Craig, you’ve missed a very special experience.
As one of the contributors to The Mindful Eye, I have the opportunity to reach photography enthusiasts from around the world and all walks of life. The Mindful Eye Community is a group of wonderful people who come together to share their passion for photography and encourage each other.
And so, it is with much gratitude to the universe for all that I’ve received on my journey as a photographer, and a person, that I decided to create My View. It allows me to share the many images , film and digital, that I’ve accumulated and continue to accumulate. It is my hope that you will enjoy these images and take the time to comment on them. All constructive comments and suggestions are welcomed as each helps me grow as a photographer and a person as I travel this journey.
Continuing to search for the light and with a grateful heart, I thank you for visiting My View.
